Prov 23: 7 - For
as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.’
For My thoughts
If you confirmed to what you see or feel in the physical realm then you
conclude yourself to what they communicate with you. We are called to walk by faith (the unseen realities) and not by our senses (2 Cor
5:7). God’s Word is His thoughts. His
thoughts are beyond the natural realm.
He communicates the realities in His Word. The Bible says in 2Cor 4:18, ‘ .’
God looked at Abraham differently because in God’s mind Abraham will be the Father of Nations.
But Abraham’s thoughts were different.
He considered the deadness of his body and the deadness of Sarah’s womb
until God changed his thinking. We read
that story in the Bible Gen 15:2-6, ‘After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” 2 But Abram said, “Lord God, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my
house is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one
born in my house is my heir!”
4 And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will
come from your own body shall be your heir.”5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and
count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall
your descendants be.” 6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.’
After this incident Abraham started to think differently. Paul wrote in Rom 4:17-21, 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”[d]) in the presence of Him
whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which
do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in
hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what
was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”[e] 19 And not being weak in faith,
he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred
years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the
promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to
God, 21 and being fully convinced
that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Think in God’s way! Think in line with His Word! God’s
Word is the material to renew your mind to think in God’s Way. Take time to
study about the characters in the Bible who walked by faith and achieved great
things. Replace your old negative
thoughts with God’s promises. Reflect
on them, mutter them, confess them loudly and speak to yourself and over your
situation. Be consistent in God’s Word
and you will see the glory of God.
Thought For Today: ‘ Let us hold fast the
confession of our hope
without wavering, for He who promised is faithful’(Heb 10:23).
