God Sees You Differently! Jan 5, 2015

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7)

God saw the world differently that is why He sent Jesus to this world to save the mankind.  It is not just one community but the entire mankind!  The opening verse depicts God’s character.   So be encouraged my dear friend!  If your friends call you by funny name or your family rejected you because you are not doing so well in your studies or you are financially broke.  Let us look at a Bible character named David.
This young shepherd boy was completely forgotten by his father.  God sent Prophet Samuel to Jesse’s house to anoint one of his sons to be the king of Israel.  Jesse brought all his sons except his youngest son David who was taking care of Jesse’s sheep  Since he was young and immature probably Jesse thought he can not be qualified to be a king.  But to his and Samuel’s surprise God chose someone who is ignored and forgotten by them.  ‘For the Lord does not see as a man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’
God saw the young man David had a heart to worship the God of Israel.  Who sang and pray to God who noticed his heart rather than his outward appearance.  David was anointed in the midst of his father and his brothers! Oh what a sight that would be! No wonder he wrote in Psalm 23: 5, ‘you prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.  You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.’
In Christ we are precious! We are His chosen ones, Royal priests, peculiar ones and Holy Nation.  God sees us differently in Christ.  We are the righteousness of God in Christ. We are declared righteous because Jesus took our place.  Because of His Perfect sacrifice on the cross on our behalf, we are qualified by His blood to be sons and daughters of God!
God said David is a man after His own heart!  This expression of God overwhelmed me! We are NOW the sons after His heart! You are not ignored or rejected by God!  Jesus paid a price for you.  He valued us so much that He gave His Life for us! Our Heavenly Father never hesitated to give His beloved Son for our sake.
So rejoice in God! In the presence of your enemies God is preparing a platform; a platform of success, victory, honor and dignity.  Never believe the lies of satan.  God sees you differently and not like men.
Confess this: I am God’s best; I am precious and valuable to Him.  He loves me unconditionally!

More Scriptures to reflect on :  Psalm 113: 7-8; Isaiah 41:9; 1 Peter 2:9,10
