‘Be anxious for
nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to
God; 7and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’
(Phil 4: 6-7)
Jesus lived
that life in His earthly ministry. He
was not exempted from problems of this world.
But He was calm and took charge of every challenge He faced. God wants us to live that kind of life as
well. We are living in a worry and fear
filled world. Jesus said, we are in this
world but not of this world.(John 15:19).
We are born of God to overcome the world. ‘For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the
victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
(1John 5:4).
Refuse to
worry or be anxious. You make this
choice everyday. Be consistent and
determine to program your mind to be a ‘worry-free mind’. Remember also, ‘in
everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to
God’. If you maintain yourself this way, very soon you
will find yourself calm and peaceful under pressure because the opening verse
says, if you follow ‘and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’
Confess this loudly: I
refuse to worry or be anxious about anything.
I choose to live a worry-free
life. God’s peace is guarding my heart
and mind.
