‘but this I say: He who sows
sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap
bountifully. So let each one give as he
purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful
giver’ (2 Cor 9:6-7).
This is another ‘Higher Spiritual
Law’ in God’s Kingdom. God commanded us
to ‘Give’. But it is a matter of heart
too because your giving is measured on the basis of your relationship with the ‘Selfless Giver’. God gave His best, His Son Jesus Christ to
the dying world! Jesus said, ‘give
and it will be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and
running over will be put into your bosom.
For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you’
(Luke 6:38).
God relate your giving with your
heart. In the Bible we read a beautiful
story to illustrate this happened in the time of Jesus. ‘and He (Jesus) looked up and saw the rich
putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow
putting in two mites. So He said, ‘truly
I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out
of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty
put in all the livelihood that she had’(Luke 21: 1-4). For where your treasure is, there your heart
will be also.
Giving is a nature of God! ‘Do not
withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your
hand to do so (since we are the partakers of His nature). Also do not say to your neighbor, ‘go and
come back and tomorrow I will give it.’ when you have it with you’
(Prov 3:27,28). ‘…Our Heavenly Father lavishly let
His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the
unjust. Jesus said: ‘therefore you shall
be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect’(Mat 5: 45,48).
We are not of this world in order
to function to the superficial system of this world. God’s Kingdom functions by ‘Higher Spiritual
Laws’. God supplies all our need
according to His Riches In Glory
not according to our bank balance or the limited earthly resources. Giving is a divine command of God as well as
a Higher Spiritual Law. Walk in it and
you will be catapulted to a realm of ‘super-abundance’. ‘as it
is written, ‘He who gathered much had nothing left over and he who gathered
little had no lack’ (2 Cor 8:15).
Prayer : Dear Heavenly
Father, You did not spare Your Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how
shall You not with Him also freely give us all things? Thank You Father for Your selfless loving nature! We are privileged to be partakers of Your
nature and all that Christ has purchased on the cross for us. We walk in abundance as we give
selflessly. In Jesus Name Amen.
